“Chalkboard” looks were one of the hottest trends at the recent National Stationery Show in New York City. Simulating the look of handwritten text in white chalk against a black background (or red background for holiday items), chalkboard-inspired designs appeared on a wide variety of stationery items – including greeting cards, invitations, calendars, gift bags and tags, tableware, party signs and more.
Many companies at the National Stationery Show also employed chalkboard looks on the signage in their stands – further proving the appeal of this eye-catching trend. Shown is an example of a “Chalkboard Designs” greeting card from Massachusetts-based Marian Heath Greeting Cards.
