Pantone_Color_of_the_Year_Marsala_Story_Three_Image4The global gurus of all things to do with colour, the Pantone Colour Institute, have announced that the 2015 hue of the year is Marsala 18-1438.

Billed as a “naturally robust and earthy wine red…that enriches our body mind and souls”, there’s a lot to love about Marsala, which makes for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colors.

Much like the fortified wine it is named for, Marsala conveys the satisfying richness of a great meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This makes it a natural fit for the kitchen and dining room, idmarsalaeal for tabletop, small appliances and linen throughout the home.

The executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, Leatrice Eiseman says: “Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”
