The Design Museum is holding a festive Sparkle the Dark up event on Friday December 7 from 6.30 – 10.00 pm.
Here you can look forward to crafting sparkling greetings cards, featuring in your own e-card, honing your gift wrapping skills and generally getting into the Christmas spirit.
This cold and wintery night the museum building will be adorned with a projection of huge Christmas images to encourage a festive mood, with images supplied by members of the Greetings Card Association.
Origami Architecture expert Elod Beregszaszi will engineer a yuletide themed pop up card, while you will have the chance to adorn your own cards with a bit of festive sparkle using crystals donated by Swarovski.
Designer in Residence Lawrence Lek will be building an architectural sculpture from the ghosts of Christmas cards past.
You can also hear a talk from Jane Harris and Sarah E Braddock Clarke, authors of new book, Digital Visions for Fashion & Textiles, or transform yourself into a walking piece of design, inspired by the Unexpected Pleasures exhibition and with assistance from illustrator Sion Ap Tomos.
