Lovable new additions to the Pink Chillies range of elephant-based gifts were unveiled at this year’s Spring Fair 2013, each supporting Sussex Wildlife Trust.
The brand, which won Brand Licensing Europe’s ‘License Th!s 2012’, competition was born out of a love for elephants, wildlife and the planet. Each character represents a cause which benefits from a percentage of the character’s sales profits. Not only are the characters collectable friends and engaging for all age groups, they have a role to play in educating young people and adults alike about endangered species and environmental issues.
The striking new additions to the family are Ervin (meaning “friend of the sea” in Olde English and his best friend Kai the sea snail (Kai means “sea” in Hawaiian), who both represent UK seas and support Sussex Wildlife Trusts “Living Seas” Marine work.
Yara (meaning “butterfly”) and her best friend Makshi (“honey bee”) represent butterflies and bees and the current threats facing them and will also be supporting Sussex Wildlife Trusts work in this area.
Suzanne Till, director at Pink Chillies, said “We are delighted to introduce Ervin, Kai, Yara and Makshi. They’re a fantastic addition to our family. Sussex Wildlife Trust is a brilliant charity local to us, so we’re thrilled to support them and the great work they do.”
Pink Chillies is a British company formed in 2011 with the aim of raising the profile of endangered species and helping support relevant charities while breathing new life into the character-based toy market. The range is based around elephants but there’s a twist: each named character represents an endangered species and/or an environmental issue. The characters are not only adorable but also colourful and fresh, appealing to all age groups. The range includes quality plush toys, Elebank money boxes, bag clips and stationery.
Ten per cent of the profits of the sales of products are donated to a range of related species/environmental based charities and Pink Chillies is committed to evolving the brand by introducing new characters and products, providing ongoing interest and ongoing support to charities.
The new characters will be available in July ready for the summer season.
