An interesting new concept has just been launched by Inkly, which enables users to send handwritten greetings cards via an iPad app
Helping greetings card senders to ‘make it personal’ is the new Inkly iPad app which makes it easier and more convenient than ever to send real printed greetings cards featuring your own handwriting inside. This is the first and only service that allows you to include a personally handwritten message within the card and send it to anywhere in the world.
Inkly’s patent-pending technology makes the printed handwriting look as good as the real thing so the recipient will never know the difference.
Users choose a card from thousands of crowdsourced designs from the Inkly app, and then write out the desired message on a piece of paper that is then photographed using the iPad camera. Smart technology transfers only the handwritten message (and sketches if you so wish) into the chosen card, which can then be pinched, zoomed and rotated to suit. The cost of all this is £2.99 for the card plus 49p first class postage (cheaper than a first class stamp: 60p!) and the card is good to go.
Inkly has over 1,300 card designs created by independent artists, designers and publishers from all over the world, with a percentage of sales going back to the artist who created it. Inkly evens brings the high street straight to iPad users with their stock of Waitrose and Marks & Spencer’s best-selling cards. World famous fine art prints are also available or users can create a more unique piece of artwork by uploading personal photos. All Inkly cards are printed on demand to ensure there is no wastage of stock cards.
Inkly can also be integrated with Facebook so you are alerted to upcoming birthdays and events, meaning you’ll never miss an important event again. And, you can even save addresses so when the next occasion comes around, you’ll be ready.
Peter Ryder, Inkly Co-Founder comments: “Inkly is the best of all worlds when shopping for a card… great selection, customisation options and the ability to sign or add a note in your own handwriting, all in a convenient app.”
The iPad and iPhone app is FREE to download and is available now at www.inkly.com. The Android app is coming soon!
