The Warner Textile Archive will be exhibiting at Spring Fair International for the first time in February 2014, located in Hall 4 stand F92 within Greetings & Stationery, where its beautiful range of greeting cards will be on display and available to order
The Warner Textile Archive in Braintree, Essex, is a rich design resource comprising nearly 100,000 items, including stunning textiles and inspirational paper designs, documenting the successes and innovation of Warner & Sons from the late 1800s. Designs from the Archive have been carefully chosen and sympathetically reworked to illustrate the achievements of a great British textile company, creating a range of greeting cards that reflects the diversity of this nationally-significant Collection.
John McKee, Chairman of Braintree District Museum Trust Ltd., said: “The world-celebrated designs held by the Warner Textile Archive translate into a truly charming collection of greeting cards, and I am delighted that they are gaining commercial recognition; projects such as this provide essential support for the continued conservation work carried out by the Archive.”
Since its launch in 2013, the Archive’s greeting card range has been carefully developed and refined; from ornate 19th century florals to fun and lively 1950’s prints, designs have been selected to portray the quality and endurance of Warner & Sons’ legacy. Each design is printed in the UK on 280gsm FSC-certified textured board, responsibly sourced from sustainable forests. Packing and distribution then takes place near Braintree, for a card collection which truly celebrates and commemorates ‘Creative Britain’.
