The Natural History Museum has announced new agreements with both Quadrille Publishing and The Great British Card Company to produce cards and stationery. These will be part of the Museum’s range of Wildlife Photographer of the Year merchandise, currently available in various UK retail outlets.
The expansion of the offering comes as the competition enters its milestone 50th year, celebrating a half century of showcasing the best in nature photography from around the globe.
The deal will see the Great British Card Company supply a range of greeting cards from May onwards, featuring outstanding photographic entries from the past several years of the competition. This is the first time the company has worked with the Museum, and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year cards will be published under The Almanac Gallery brand.
The partnership with Quadrille, one of the UK’s leading book and stationery publishers is also a new arrangement for the Museum. It will significantly expand the photography exhibition’s retail offering with a range that includes notebooks, calendars and photo albums that will go on sale from June.
‘We’re thrilled to be working with Quadrille and The Great British Card Company for these new ranges,’ says Natural History Museum Licensing Manager Zuzi Wojciechowska. ‘Our licensing programme for Wildlife Photographer of the Year is growing steadily, offering a beautiful selection of premium product using some of the most amazing nature images in the world.’
Both ranges will be made available through various department stores and retail outlets including book stores,
Co-owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Worldwide, Wildlife Photographer of the Year champions honest and ethical wildlife photography, while pushing the boundaries of artistic freedom, technical skill and narrative excellence. The 50th Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will open to the public at the Natural History Museum on 24 October 2014.
