Peter Rabbit and Star Wars are licensing favourites

stampsThe winners of this year’s Licensing Awards were revealed on September 13 at a black tie ball held at The Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

The crowning accolade of the evening was given to Ian Downes, Managing Director of Start Licensing, who was given a standing ovation as he was presented with the Honorary Achievement Award for 2016.The Best Classic Licensed Property Award was given to a very deserving Peter Rabbit, the much loved creation of Beatrix Potter which has spent 150 years at the top of the tree (pictured below right).

Peter Rabbit also scooped the Best Licensed Home Décor, Tableware or Housewares Range for Mothercare’s Peter Rabbit 150 Nursery Range from Suncrest Trading

The Best Licensed Paper Products or Stationery Range award was given to the fabulous Star Wars Stamp Range from Royal Mail (pictured above left). Star Wars, The Force Awakened, was also recognised as the Best Film Licensed Property. The Simpsons x Skinnydip Krusty the Clown range (below left) was named Best Licensed Giftware Range for 2016.

Best Licensed Preschool Apparel (0-5 years): Star Wars Babywear for Tesco from Paul Dennicci

Best Licensed Children’s Apparel Range: DC Comics Swimwear Range for Sainsbury’s from Aykroyd & Sons
