Woodmansterne sets the gold standard

woodmansterneOne of the UK’s most popular and successful greetings card and stationery publishers, Woodmansterne, has won the Print Week Award 2016 for Social Stationery Printer of the Year.

It is Woodmansterne’s second year of entering and second year of winning, with their winning entry being described by Print Week as “The gold standard in stationery”.

The judges were looking for consistent quality of print, finishing and reproduction and the search ended with Woodmansterne’s  3D Christmas Village Advent Calendar and nine luxury Christmas cards with a glitter finish. Judges were suitably dazzled, with one commenting “The glittering was amazing. I’ve never seen it applied so precisely”.

Seth Woodmansterne collected the award from guest compere Gyles Brandreth and acknowledged the part played by every member of his team: “To be a good team takes everyone doing their bit, helping each other out, and overcoming challenges together.  To be the best, however, it takes something special – a lot of hard graft, everyone at the top of their game, some skill and flair, and a bit of nous. We must be doing something right, and that’s down to every single one of you. I’m so grateful and proud of you all.”

Paul Woodmansterne added his congratulations, saying “It is a wonderful accolade and proves that winning last year’s contest, which we entered for the first time, was no fluke! At a time when manufacturing in the UK went out of fashion, we have stuck in there and developed a lovely facility which is now the very best of its type in Britain.  Well done to all of you. And Thank You.”
