Lets go Dutch

Much has been made of Scandinavian design for the past few years, but it’s the Dutch we have our eye on as the Amsterdam-based trade event, showUP, matures into a fabulous showcase for the contemporary gift sector.

Celebrating its 10th edition this year, showUP takes place from September 3 – 4 at the stunning venue of Expo Haarlemmermeer, Amsterdam, just around the corner from Schiphol airport, for ease of access.

Mooi Goed, passion for design

More than 200 exhibitors showcase almost 500 brands. From cutting-edge Dutch design through to chic Scandinavian brands, fresh, contemporary tableware and covetable stationery.

showUP has a fantastic reputation as a buying platform for retailers specialising in contemporary home accessories, with the carefully curated mix of exhibitors ensuring visitors are able to select from the best new trend-driven products being brought to market ahead of Christmas.

With passion for design Mooi Goed wants to show that beauty is in the small and simple things of everyday life. By combining beautiful design with ordinary objects Mooi Goed tries to grasp those little moments and make them special and unique. The collection consists of candles, hooks, tealights and bookshelf supports. All products are made, designed and manufactured in The Netherlands with eye for quality and made to last.

STUDIO MHL designs

STUDIO MHL  based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, designs and makes delicate jewelry, using fine materials. Each item is handcrafted by Monique van Bruggen and Erik Bakker with the utmost care.

It’s no wonder these lovely peaces of art are already for sale at the Tate modern Museum Shop in London.

The Rijkswachters

Talking about museums, please meet the Rijkswachters. They’re robots made from wooden crates in which the works of art of the Dutch Rijksmuseum were kept safe during the decade the museum was under construction. After the new Rijksmuseum opened, the crates became obsolete.

Every robot has a number with which you can find which piece of art was kept safe with the wood of your robot.

Koda, unique haute-couture accessories

koda amsterdam makes unique haute-couture accessories that are fashioned from materials that are left over. For instance: the cutting waste of upholstery and curtain fabrics.

Different fabrics are leftover every day. That makes every koda piece different.

koda works with Dutch designers. Their inspiration differs but they share a passion: fabric.

The products are carefully made in Dutch ateliers. The result of craftsmanship and passion: beautiful bags, special hassocks and fabulous jewelry. Each one unique, exclusive for you.

Anno Benk makes relevant products for today’s generation.
