Roving reporter Denre Bruins writes: After the enormous success of the autumn exhibition, which I greatly enjoyed attending, I was pleased to hear about the spring edition of showUP, which takes place on Sunday the 4th and Monday the 5th of February.
For those who don’t already know about this fantastic contemporary exhibition for Dutch design, showUP is an inspirational trade fair for home, gift and lifestyle accessories, which runs twice a year at the stunning venue of the “EXPO Haarlemmermeer” near Schipol airport in Amsterdam.
showUP offers a unique and innovative concept to the retail trade, with a spacious layout which makes walking the show a pleasure. The diverse array of stands are displayed to full advantage via carefully crafted room sets and other great merchandising ideas.
The next edition of the show will incorporate almost 350 manufacturers, distributors and agents from around the world, all presenting the latest creations for living, lifestyle, cooking, gifts and gadgets and kids and stationary. This will of course include a strong contingent of the most very best Dutch suppliers, all of them keen to reach the UK market with their super cool designs and trend-making products.
showUP is aimed towards buyers of living and gift shops, toy stores, concept stores, department stores, museum shops, webshops, interior designers, stylists and lifestyle journalists. It is a trade-only event accessible to retail professionals from the segments home, kids and gifts, not for students or companies outside of retail.
The show is easy accessible by bus from Amsterdam, Schiphol airport (line 300) with the bus stopping almost in front of the entrance. If you decide to drive, the parking fee is €6,00 per day. Entrance is free for those who register online via the website: www.showup.nl
