Returning to The Greetings & Gift sector at next year’s Spring Fair, the popular ‘Debut Area’, dedicated to artisan publishers new to the show, is just one of the many reasons to visit.
Hosting the one of the world’s largest presentations of greetings and gifts by suppliers from the UK and overseas, Spring Fair – 4-8 February 2018 – is the ultimate destination for retailers to diversify their offerings through the growing greetings market.
With the UK purchasing an average of 33 cards per person every year, more than £1.7bn was spent on greetings cards last year . The ‘Everyday’ category continues to account for the largest share of sales and as traditional greeting card companies evolve their businesses, they have extended their creative designs onto many more products, from stationery to gift ranges, presenting retailers with a great opportunity to cross-sell.
Visiting retailers will find a huge assortment of paper product at Spring Fair, including greetings cards, wrapping paper, stationery, calendars and craft kits. With over 300 exhibitors showcasing ranges for all the major sending occasions, including 74 brand new exhibitors to the show, it represents the best place to source unique and exciting designs from around the world, and capitalise on the nation’s fondness for sending cards. New exhibitors include 1790 Cards, Bexy Boo and YTR Design.
Within the ‘Debut Area’, visitors will find fresh, contemporary greeting cards from new publisher members of The Greeting Card Association, making it easier than ever before to locate unique and innovative new designs. Among the new suppliers on display will be Dilly & Pink, Rattycat Cards & Print and Flying Teaspoons.
The sector will also feature a number of suppliers that only exhibit at Spring Fair in the UK, including Otter House – known for its animal-related greetings and gift products; Cardgains – the largest buying group for independents in the UK; and Partisan Products – a leading distributor of high-end gift wrapping products.
They will be complemented by a number of leading names, such as Woodmansterne, Carte Blanche Group, Ling Design, Museums & Galleries, Great British Card Company, The Art File, Belly Button Designs, Five Dollar Shake, Talking Tables, Blueprint Collections and Caspari.
Alison Graham, Event Director at Spring Fair, commented: “The greetings card industry continues to flourish and we’re seeing a huge amount of interest in card products from all types of retailer as they look to increase sales by diversifying their offering. This year’s Greetings & Gift sector will be the largest in the last four years and we’re delighted to bring so many fantastic publishers to the event in February.”
