House of Turnowsky scoops double gold in World Calendar Awards

Iconic design house, calendar and stationery manufacturer, House of Turnowsky, is thrilled to have scooped a double gold in the 2018 World Calendar Awards as it celebrates 60 years since the publication of its first calendar.

The ‘Building Bridges’ calendar earned its gold award in the Wall class, Custom/Corporate division, Best Contemporary Art category, while the ‘Good Luck’ Children’s Calendar won gold in the Wall class, Custom/Corporate division, Best Graphic Design category.

The accolades come hot on the heels of another gold award presented to Turnowsky at the inaugural ‘Calies’ (British calendar awards), together making a wonderful tribute as the design house celebrates its milestone 60th anniversary in the calendar world.

Commenting on the win, House of Turnowsky Chief Executive, Kobi Tadmor said: “We are absolutely delighted about our recognition at the World Calendar Awards as we celebrate 60 great years of success in this market. It is more than we could have hoped for to receive three gold awards in one year, but it must be true what they say that good things really do come in threes!”

Turnowsky is proud to have received many awards over the years for its beautiful and luxurious, best-in-class calendars, which are created by an exceptionally talented and dedicated in-house design team.

The Building Bridges concept showed that in today’s globalised society, concepts of distance and difference are challenged by modern communication networks and technologies. Each page of the calendar presents a different type of bridge, demonstrating the creativity and ambition of the human spirit in making connections, and its ability to bridge gaps, time and space. In its diversity the calendar itself stands as a bridge between cultures, people and times, man and Nature and, of course, between man and himself.

Magic, optimism, imagination and lots of smiles are just some of the things that come to mind when describing House of Turnowsky’s renowned Children’s Calendars, which are consistent international award winners. This rare collection of children’s drawings from all over the world aims to celebrate the next generation, as with beautiful bursts of colour and imagination it brings to life the magnificent fantasy world of children. Over the years these calendars have been presented as gifts to international figures and celebrities such as Angela Merkel, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand and Al Pacino.

The two gold accolades received at this year’s World Calendar Awards are fitting tribute to the striking and unique pieces of wall art created by House of Turnowsky for the global market.
