Enesco MD Ken Johnson to retire at end of May

The Managing Director of Enesco, Ken Johnson, has made the decision to retire at the end of May this year and he will be hugely missed by the rest of the team at the giftware giant.

Ken has enjoyed a career in the ceramic and gift industry spanning five decades, starting off with Anthony Wood and his father Gerald. Ken was fortunate enough to sell their products in London in the Swinging 60’s followed by regular trips to the USA and Canada where he first met Enesco and Mr Gene Freedman, someone who has been a huge influence on Ken’s career and whom he regularly quotes, ‘the best is yet to come!’.

Some year later Ken joined Border Fine Arts, who in 1989 became the agents for Enesco in the UK and Ireland. Enesco Ltd as it is known now was formed in 1993 and Ken has been at the helm for the last twelve years.

When asked for a comment, Ken states ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my career and the many wonderful people I have met over the years. I am looking forward to a relaxing summer.’

Our loss will certainly be the gain of Kens five daughters and grandson Solomon. We wish Ken a very long, healthy and happy retirement.
