internationally-acclaimed independent distributor Abrams & Chronicle Books is pleased to announce that Emily McDowell Studio will be joining the publisher’s distribution list of gift and stationery clients. Beginning in January 2019, the card and gift company will be distributed by Abrams & Chronicle Books in the UK and European markets.
Founded in 2012 by writer and illustrator Emily McDowell, the brand specializes in chronicling the human condition through humour, heart and honesty, creating cards and products which not only help people feel understood but also help them connect, especially when they’re struggling to find the right words
The company’s motto, “We make cards and gifts for the relationships we actually have,” extends also to its widely celebrated line of Empathy Cards, which offer support for those struggling with serious illness and loss. The unique line has been featured by The Telegraph, The Independent and Huffington Post UK, among many others
In addition to greeting cards, Emily McDowell Studio also produces a variety of witty and thought-provoking gift items, including ceramic mugs, tote bags, sticky notes and, most recently, postcard books.
In addition to the ABRAMS and Chronicle Books lists, Abrams & Chronicle Books also distributes other fine illustrated publishers and gift and stationery lines including Knock Knock (who along with Emily McDowell Studio, are part of the Who’s There Group), SelfMadeHero, Princeton Architectural Press, Smith Street Books, Carpet Bombing Culture, Laurence King Publishing and V&A titles across the UK, Europe and other international markets.
