As the major annual get together for the home and gift industry, Spring Fair traditionally helps companies to celebrate milestone anniveraries, major brand launches and countless other reasons to be happy. With the show just around the corner we look at some of the key milestones taking place this year.
Cardgains is 30! The gift and greetings card buying group for independent retailers, Cardgains, celebrates its 30th Anniversary in 2019. Celebrations will begin on The Cardgains Village at Spring Fair in Hall 3 L10/M11, where a new wheel of fortune style game will give members the chance to win £30 vouchers from participating Cardgains’ suppliers, which they can use against orders at the show. A cake cutting ceremony will take place on Sunday February 5 on the Hall 3 Stand.
On Monday February 4 Cardgains will present a cheque for £20,000 to representatives from MND Association, the chosen beneficiary of their 2018 Charity Challenge, which GGR Publishers Denre Bruins and Charlotte Cowell were proud to participate in. The charity and event for 2019 will also be announced on the Village at Spring Fair and industry friends and colleagues are invited to sign up to join in the big 3-0 challenge!
“All I can say at this point, is that there will be a 3 and a zero in the distance we walk!” says MD Chris Dyson.
The centenary of Joe Davies. To celebrate 100 years in business, major giftware importer and regular winner of national customer service awards, Joe Davies, is inviting their customers (old and new), friends and suppliers, to join them on their stand at Spring Fair (Hall 5 D50/E51) on Monday February 4 at 6pm. A lot has changed since the first product ranges of hearth fireside furniture became available in 1919, but one thing they remain very proud of, is in still delivering customer service the Joe Davies way – personally from the part. Share the love with them at Spring Fair.
Enesco celebrates 25 years. Giftware giant Enesco celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Having purchased Lilliput Lane and Border Fine Arts the company was registered as Enesco European Giftware Group in January 1994, more recently known as Enesco Limited. The companies joined forces and moved to a new headquarters in Carlisle that remains their home today.
At the start of their story it was the height of the collectibles era, with names such as Cherished Teddies, Lilliput Lane and Border Fine Arts as part of the Enesco portfolio. Director of Marketing, Helen Cotterill says: “While times may have changed, the narrative around our vision and values has not; we’re still the leaders in both classic and contemporary collectibles as well as the gift-giving market, seeing our portfolio expand to include licensed products from big-name brands such as Disney, Beatrix Potter and Peppa Pig. Add to this the exclusive distribution of Gund, Willow Tree and brand new for 2019 LIHIT Lab. So, while somethings stay the same, our story continues, as we look forward to the next chapter in the history of Enesco and being the number one at delivering gift giving all wrapped up in the UK”.
Wilder than ever! A familiar stand at Spring Fair and other shows for many years, the wonderful Wild Things Gifts will celebrate 35 years in business at the 2019 event. The company recently went through a rebrand and this will officially launch with a new website in January. “The latter offers a degree of complexity unimaginable 10 years ago let alone 35!” says founder Jules Vahrman, who also urges people to attend the show in February: “There is no substitute for the meeting place and swapping of ideas provided by trade shows. The truism ‘People buy from people’ is no more evident than at these events”.
