showUP is strongly aimed towards forward-thinking buyers of home and living/gift stores, concept stores, web shops, department stores, museum shops and other tourist destinations. However, it’s also a great place for stylists, press and bloggers to get inspiration for the new season. The Netherlands is renowned as an international hub for cutting edge product design and original ideas, making this is the place where retail concepts and future trends are set.

The show has a unique collection of accessories, gifts and toys that have never seen before, many of them exclusive to showUP. This makes it the ideal sourcing destination for anyone wanting to stand out of the crowd, with a product selection that is entirely fresh and largely unseen in the UK market.

Upcycle // ZEROwaste

At the UPcycle // ZEROwaste section you get to know green makers and environmentally aware brands. You will also find participants at the rest of the exhibition with a great deal of attention for innovative materials, recycling and fair trade design.

No retailer can afford to ignore the seismic consumer shift towards sustainability, organic production, upcycling and fairtrade, and this is an essential aspect of overall product selection at showUP. The Netherlands is a world-leading country when it comes to the question of sustainability, and this is the common thread which pulls together its leading gift and homeware exhibition.

Higher ethical standards are shining through not only in the production processes or raw materials, but also in the quality. Products that last longer and survive trends and time therefore also have a sustainable character. All the signs are that 2020 will be the turning point towards a greener form of consumerism so don’t get left behind with the landfill!

Meet the makers

Meet makers and brands: from upcoming labels to prominent manufacturers and from local to international designers. New talent and well-established manufacturers get a stage in the Trendzone of curator Jan Agelink, which is a great starting point for your visit to showUP that will really get you into the zone for inspired buying decisions.

startUP@showUP

Every year eight new start-ups are selected for this section of the show. Candidates are chosen from a wide range of registrations, based on originality, creativity, enthusiasm and promising business cases. For Spring 2020 this part of the show will include Husk Ceramics, Huub Smits and more to be unveiled soon.

growUP

Central to the show and instantly recognisable with its vibrant mix of youthful colours, is growUP, reflecting the strength of the baby and children’s gift market. Here you find the best and newest brands of kids stuff. Not just interesting for toy shops, but also for concept stores and gift shops.

cookingUP

New to the exhibition in 2020 is cookingUP, an exciting feature area where you can discover a mouth-watering selection of food and drinks, alongside cutting edge tableware and handy gadgets. Articles you can look forward to seeing in this sector will range from ceramics and cocktail glasses through to olive oil and vegetarian snacks, or D.I.Y Drinks and latte art from the coffee bar on wheels. You might want to linger in this section!

The Store

A must-see section of the event is “The Store”, a pop-up shop where a combination of products are put together in a thought-provoking way. This year’s theme is plants, botanical gardening and greenhouses, in keeping with the powerful trend for sustainable living and grow-your-own. All the products on display can be sourced from showUP exhibitors.

Orderchamp

Since November 14th 2019 showUP and Orderchamp have made an alliance to offer exhibitors of showUP an inspiring offline and online selling experience 24/7, every day of the year. Watch this space for more information about the future of eCommerce in home and gift.
