Transatlantic trade starts here!

The Virtual Celtic Show is set to run from 14-16 September 2020

As exhibition organisers adapt to the restrictions of lockdown by moving this year’s events online, the Virtual Celtic Trade Show has created an exciting opportunity for trans-Atlantic trade.

Featuring artisan companies who were due to exhibit at the Celtic Show in Secaucus, America, the virtual event will run from September 14-16 on a bespoke online platform created by technical consultant, Denre Bruins and co-ordinated by a small group of exhibitors based in the UK, Ireland and the USA.

Exhibitors have been busy creating their own profile pages, where they have the option to upload a video, numerous product images, links to their website, contact details and price lists or order forms – all designed to give retailers the information necessary for new product sourcing at this peak time ahead of Christmas.

Products on display will range from beautiful new textiles, knitwear, other clothing and fashion accessories, through to inspirational greeting cards, wall art and Celtic-themed souvenirs. There will be plenty of articles that would make perfect gifts, such as handmade soaps, pottery, home accessories and charming trinkets.

On each day of the live event, buyers will be able to engage in live, real-time networking with almost 100 designer-makers, all united by their Celtic heritage and unique product ranges. Buyers can join from their desks at home or the office, anywhere there is a decent internet connection and a cup of coffee! There will be the opportunity to start a video call or text chat with exhibitors to say hi or talk through their collections. (Only buyers have the option to initiate calls).

Jack Baber of Bill baber Knitwear, one of the co-ordinators of the group, says: “We are all very excited about the first Virtual Celtic Show, which was the obvious ‘Plan B’ when the physical event was unfortunately cancelled. During the live event we will be hosting a chatroom ‘Hang Out’, which will be open throughout the session, where any participant can ask questions, chat and catch up with the group. We haven’t worked out how to pour a virtual pint yet, but we are sure it’s possible!

“We are a close-knit community of Celtic businesses and really want the opportunity to reconnect. We hope you’ll join us for what will be a fantastic event”.
