KMI Brands and Orla Kiely have launched the new At Home with Nature home fragrance collection, which will be launching in John Lewis this winter as well as with independent retailers and at Kilkenny in Ireland (Eire).
Orla Kiely comments, “It’s always a delight to work with KMI Brands on an exciting new launch. As a company they are never afraid to shake things up when it comes to innovation and design. My own love of nature and animals has really influenced this new collection and it’s wonderful to see this come to life through the shapes and colours used.”
Each candle is individually hand made by pouring wax into a silicone mould. The more complex features of the animals, such as the eyes and ears, are then sharpened manually using delicate tools and a sustainer is inserted to ensure the candle never burns straight through to the bottom.
“There is a huge amount of competition within the home fragrance market,” explains Nikki Kenyon, Senior Brand Manager at KMI Brands.
“For this new launch we worked with Orla to create something innovative and unique for the consumer; something different to what is currently out there and to what Orla has launched in the past. So we’ve moved away from traditional circular glass vessels and have introduced collectable moulded wax candles.”
John Lewis Gifts and Candleshop buyer, Sara Allbright, described the range as a “great new interpretation of Orla Kiely designs” which would make “super Christmas gifts.”
KMI Brands has collaborated with iconic designer Orla Kiely since 2010, bringing her brand to life in the world of fragrance, wash bags and home fragrance. The new At Home with Nature home fragrance collection includes three animal designs: Dog, Hen and Snail, each with their own individual fragrance and colour palette.
Fragrances range from Green Fig and Cedarwood (Dog), White Grapefruit and Basil (Hen) and Rose, Geranium and Eucalyptus (Snail).
Along with the single candles and diffusers, the new collection includes two new gift sets, ideal for the Christmas gifting period.
