National Award winners of the Sony World Photography Awards 2021 have been revealed, after contestants from over 200 territories entered and were drawn from a shortlist of 51 countries in Sony’s National Awards programme.
Any photographer from a participating country that entered an image in the open contest in any category was automatically entered. Judges had to sift through 165,000 images before choosing a single winning image from each country.
The Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year 2021 and winners of the open, youth and student contests, will be announced on April 15.
Picutred top is a dramatic scene by Russian Federation winner, Evgeniy Ivanov; left an equally dramatic but completely different composition by Taiwanese regional winner, Hui Pin Lai; a beautiful scene of fishermen in Myanmar by regional winner, Min Min Zaw.
