Shortly after announcing an exciting new garden centre development at Scotch Corner in North Yorkshire, Blue Diamond Group has announced that another new centre will be built at the Elveden Estate in Thetford, Norfolk.
The Elveden Estate is owned by 4th Earl of Iveagh of the Guinness brewing family, Arthur Edward Rory Guinness. As part of Blue Diamond’s new development on the estate the existing shop and restaurant will be relocated from the courtyard into the walled garden, where they will form part of an 8,500sqm garden centre complex. Up to 110 new jobs will be created by the wonderful new project, which promises to turn Elveden into a real destination garden centre.
Not everyone is happy about the scheme, however, which will be located very close to Thetford’s existing garden centre, an independent family business which has been heavily invested into.
The Scotch Corner garden centre development will be adjacent to the Scotch Corner Designer Village, due to open in 2023.
