The Lovely NLD Designs caught our eye as we were on the hunt for new greeting card ranges. We caught up with designer, Natalie Dourado, who talked us through her new card publishing venture. She said:
“I’ve been working as a magazine designer for the past decade, though more recently – after being made redundant due to the pandemic – I’ve been designing my own range of greetings cards. The idea came to me around October, when we’d usually be designing our Christmas issues of the magazines, so I decided to create my own collection of Christmas cards.
To begin with, it started as a fun personal project for me to sell to friends and family, but a friend of mine said it was worth continuing the idea to see where it goes.
“I’ve since designed two other collections – Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day – and have just finished designing my Easter collection. I’ll soon be starting a Father’s Day range, and I’ve also been developing ideas for birthdays and other occasions, plus non-occasions too, such as ‘thank you’ and ‘thinking of you’ cards.
“My cards range from £2-4, and the number of designs in each collection varies – I currently have six designs in my Easter range. I’ve also started to do some personalised cards too for some occasions (please see attached an example of a Valentine’s Day card I’ve designed).
