BCTF Online announces content programme

As the British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF) gets ready to launch the 2021 edition of BCTF Online – running from Sunday June 27 – Thursday July 1, the organiser has announced a wonderful programme of content for the British crafting community.

The seminar programme will get underway on Monday June 28 at 3.00pm, when Anti Copying in Design (ACID) trade mark attorney, Kelly Hudson, will host a talk on intellectual protection – vital for designer-makers and artists who wish to protect their work against copyright theft.

The following day, on Tuesday June 29 at 2.00pm, Hayley Banks from the fantastic design collective, Design Nation, will host a talk about designer makers supporting each other, the power of networks, collaboration and so on, which is more important now than ever before.

On Wednesday June 20th at 4.00pm, Patricia van den Akker of The Design Trust will host a talk on how to create a more sustainable creative business, with practical advice how to manage your time, work, mental and physical health, and improve your marketing and finances.

On Thursday July 1 at 11.00 am, Chris Workman of the Giftware Association and Lindsey Straughton of The National Association of Jewellers’ will host a talk about creating in the UK and any initiatives they are able to offer makers.

The Awards

Then the grand finale! The legendary BCTF Awards will once again take place this year as they have every year for decades, celebrating the very best of British crafting as we come to the end of an incredibly tough 18 months for our industry. The awards will be announced on Thursday July 1 at 3.00pm so be ready with the bubbly!

The GA Award of Excellence: The winner receives substantial PR coverage in national trade press, social media, The GA website and e-newsletter, a year’s free membership with all the savings and assistance including free advice and legal help, savings on carriage costs as well as design protection with our Copywatch scheme and much more.

The NAJ award of Excellence: The Winner receives ‘Designer Craftsman’ entry to the NAJ, plus publicity to the value of £1,000.

Forever Creative Photography Award of Excellence: The winner receives a free professional phot shoot with photographer Richard Jackson, which will work wonders for your business.
