Calendars, cards and giftware from The Licky Cow Gallery

Photographer Toni Cross travels across the UK and throughout the world, photographing wildlife, farm animals and wild horses and donkeys. She aims to capture the nature of the animal in quite a quirky and personal way and loves close up images, coat textures and is in constant search for that elusive unusual shot.

The Licky Cow Gallery range is completely designed by Toni. Cards and calendars are printed in the UK and giftware is made in her Yorkshire workshop. There are seven new A4 spiral bound wall calendars for 2023, featuring Highland Cattle, Herdwick Sheep, Swaledale Sheep, Robins, Puffins, Belted Galloway Cattle and Donkeys.

Calendars are packed in film bags with a hanger and all of the images illustrated on the back. They are ideal for gift shops, Post Offices and farm shops, and the Highland, Herdwick and Swaledale ones sell really well in appropriate regional outlets in the North of England and Scotland.

The trade price for calendars is £4.50. The Licky Cow does not offer a sale or return service as some of the larger calendar publishers do, but will offer an exchange service if a particular design isn’t selling well for a retailer. The cut off for this is 1st December, by which time most retailers will know what is working for them.

The Licky Cow also has a lovely range of greetings cards, featuring some 50 different animal designs on matte board with Kraft envelopes. The cards are packed in film bags as standard but Licky Cow can also offer unpackaged cards if preferred. Trade price is £1.05 and new ranges come out each Spring.

A complementary gifting range of coasters and mugs are priced at £1.60 and £3.25 respectively.

Toni comments: “Our aim is to limit the number of retailers within an area, to keep our product range more exclusive and we would far rather build a long relationship with a retailer than sell to lots of outlets. All of our current outlets are long term stockists who we have made personal contact with, and in our search for new outlets we are looking to build on this close relationship.

“We can offer a more bespoke service to farm shops and animal attractions, and some of the images included in our range were taken of customer’s own animals”.

Toni is always happy to consider a photo shoot on your premises, or around the local area, to enable us to create special gifts and cards for your shop. She adds. “I’ve had a camera since I was eight, and turned professional about 14 years ago, but have been involved in the giftware industry for many years. I travel extensively and love photographing in Australia and Canada as well as across the UK. After many hours in the field, it’s also great to come back to my desk, sort through hundreds of photos in search of a special image, and think ‘what can I create from that?’”

There is no minimum order on products, which are shipped via Evri for a standard cost of £3.95. Orders can be placed online at www.lickycow.gallery. Just order and request an invoice, we will send you a correct invoice at wholesale prices.
