Garden Centre Association Award Winners

The winners of the Garden Centre Association’s most prestigious awards, including the Garden Centres of Excellence selection, were announced at the GCA’s annual conference, held at the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa in Blackburn, Lancashire on Tuesday, January 24, 2023).


Klondyke Garden Centre, Morton Hall was named as Garden Centre of the Year, whilst Bents Garden & Home won the Destination Garden Centre of the Year accolade. The full list of Garden Centres of Excellence includes (in alphabetical order):


Barton Grange Garden Centre (pictured) Bents Garden & Home, Cowells Garden Centre, Fron Goch Garden Centre, Gordale Garden Centre, Klondyke Garden Centre, Stokesley, Pacific Nurseries, Perrywood Garden Centre, Tiptree, Ruxley Manor and The Old Railway Line Garden Centre.

Associate of the Year: Wyevale Nurseries Ltd
The Worrall Cup: Pugh’s Garden Villages

The GCA reported that: “The hard work and dedication of our member garden centres improves year on year, meaning we have some of the highest standards in the industry. We’d like to congratulate all of our award winners as they are extremely deserving and are a shining example to others”.

In other awards held during the conference, the following accolades were given:

The Christmas Competition (Garden Centre category) winner, sponsored by Gisela Graham, is Brimsmore Garden Centre
The Christmas Competition (Destination Garden Centre category) winner, sponsored by Gisela Graham, is Garsons Garden Centre, Esher
The Environment and Community Award went to The Old Railway Line Garden Centre
The Ruxley Rose (Garden Centre category) award went to Klondyke Garden Centre, Morton Hall
The Ruxley Rose (Destination Garden Centre category), went to Barton Grange Garden Centre
Barton Grange Trophy for Commercial Creativity and Innovation – Bents Garden & Home
Customer Service Award – Best Customer Service went to Fron Goch Garden Centre
The Indoor Lifestyle Award – Best Indoor Lifestyle Retailer (Garden Centre category) was given to RHS Bridgewater
The Indoor Lifestyle Award – Best Indoor Lifestyle Retailer (Destination Garden Centre category) – went to Blue Diamond East Bridgford Garden Centre
The GIMA Award for Best Garden Products Retailer (Garden Centre category) went to Klondyke Garden Centre, Stokesley
The GIMA Award for Best Garden Products Retailer (Destination Garden Centre category) went to Garsons Garden Centre, Esher
The Dick Allen Award (Most Improved Garden Centre) went to Coletta & Tyson
The Weber Outdoor Living Award – Best Outdoor Living Retailer (Garden Centre Category) – went to Klondyke Garden Centre, Stokesley
The Weber Outdoor Living Award – Best Outdoor Living Retailer (Destination Garden Centre Category) went to Barton Grange Garden Centre
The GCA Grow Training Award was given to Squires Garden Centre, Crawley.
