Paint manufacturer, Dulux, has announced that its colour of the year for 2024 is Sweet Embrace, a soft, delicate tone that provides a perfect wall canvas for interior settings. Dulux says it is “a versatile colour that can be used on its own or as the foundation for other colour combinations. Think of it as the perfect springboard for your creativity, especially if you’re keen to try different paint effects, such as a striking colour flow feature wall”.

Inspired by “the softness of feathers and evening clouds”, Sweet Embrace is a strong foundation colour that pairs well with other hues, providing plenty of opportunity for unique feature walls, including colour flow sections (see here for guidelines). Subtle and Sophisticated, Sweet Embrace will take on different tones depending on the light, “bringing warmth to north-facing spaces and softness to sunlit rooms”.

Dulux is encouraging painters and decorators to experiment with colour flow feature walls which blend two or more shades “for a feeling of wraparound softness.” For a warm and earthy look Dulux recommends pairing Sweet Embrace with Copper Glow and Winter Pumpkin.
