Katherine Bree is a London-based jewellery designer whose work has been quietly capturing the attention of jewellery lovers since 2000. Drawing from a deep appreciation for nature, the arts, and mythology, Katherine creates jewellery that tells stories and carries meaning, crafted with careful thought and attention to detail.
Her designs are simple yet striking, created using semi-precious beads, with sterling silver, and gold vermeil findings. Each piece is made by hand in Katherine’s North London studio, where she works with naturally shaped stones that add a sense of individuality to every design. Her jewellery is eclectic and asymmetric and is known for its colour combinations and unusual semi-precious stones. This year she is celebrating 25 years in business by looking back and re-creating some of her best loved pieces.
Earth Treasure collection 2025
This year Katherine will be re-visiting one of her bestselling collections, the Earth Treasure collection. This is a collection exploring nature as if in a dream state. The colourways are inspired by the light and shade of Dawn and Twilight and incorporate gemstone treasures. She will be re-creating the pieces, with style additions to bring it refreshed into 2025.
A Connection to Stories and Symbols
Katherine’s approach to jewellery making is deeply personal. Every collection she creates is carefully considered, and each new release tells a story inspired by something close to her heart. The rich imagery within ancient stories and myths, the nurturing energy of nature, the power of the elements, or inspiration from art, film, and literature. Katherine draws from these sources to craft pieces that feel meaningful, special and something that resonates with the wearer on a deeper level. Katherine’s ability to weave these narratives into her designs gives her jewellery a sense of depth that extends beyond simple decoration.
Working from her small studio in North London, Katherine handpicks every stone for its unique beauty and quality, sourcing materials from trusted merchants, gem fairs, and vintage shops. Her passion for collecting gemstone beads means that each piece in her collection is imbued with character, and no two items are ever the same. Although designs are repeated, the naturally varying shapes of the stones ensure that each piece has its own distinct personality.
