2016 London Stationery Award Winners

2016_nuuna_Pearl_notebooksThe winners of the 2016 stationery awards were revealed at this year’s London Stationery Show, where a panel of six industry buyers reviewed over 350 new products. The results were announced at the end of the show, at a drinks reception attended by exhibitors and buyers.

 

The Novelty category was won by MT Masking Tape wins, one of two wins for Stone Marketing. Commended were West Designs’Lego Ruler and the EGG NOG/Stone Marketing London Colour in Tablecloth

Licensing_GMC-MiboJungleInvites-300x251The Licensing category was won by Mibo Jungle Invites from designer Madeleine Rogers/GMC. Commended were Go Stationery’s The Time Garden notebook and Are you that tall from GMC

The new Gift Packaging category was won by Snowman Mailing Bags from The Original Funky Mailing Bag Company. Commended were Perfectly Wrapped Packaging boxes and the Buntbox Handbag box

DiariesOrganisers_Mums-Office-Christmas-Book-240x300The Diaries & Organisers category was won by the Mum’s Office Christmas Book. Designer Emma Fletcher also won the discretionary Judges’ Award, given to recognise the individual passion and interest taken to create it. Commended were the Leuchtturm 1917 Planner and Go Stationery’s This is my Year

The Everyday Writing category was won by Notable Designs for the Penco Brass Pencil. Commended were Pilot Pens’ Frixion Colours and the Manuscript Pen Co Callicreative DuoTip

The Writing Instruments over £25 category was won by Notable Designs’ Blackwing Pencils. Commended were the Manuscript Pen Co Calligraphy Artist Sets and GBA Silver Bullet Pen

Filing_Go-Stationery-Candy-Storage-256x300The Filing category was won by Go Stationery’s Candy Storage. Commended were Stone Marketing’s Loqi Pockets and Notable Designs’ Penco Storage Container

The Social Stationery category was won by Portico Designs’ Pineapple Boxed Notecards. Commended were the Lime Stationery & Art Original Crown Mill Cutlery Notecards and Portico Designs’ Bee Notecards.

DeskAccessories_LimeSA-Kohinoor-DeskSharpener-300x240The new Desk Accessories category was won by Lime Stationery & Art’s Kohinoor Desk Sharpener. Commended were Notable Designs’ Penco Carrytite and the I Find You App locator

The Notebooks & Journals category was won by Stone Marketing’s Nuuna Pearl Pink Notebook. Commended were Notable Designs’ Midori Mo Notebook and Turnaround Publishing’s Cockatoo Storage Notebook

porticoHenri Davis, independent retail advisor and vice-president of The Giftware Association, chaired the judging panel for the sixth time.

The panel of judges included Joanne Barber, of the Stationery & Gift Boutique, Bedfordshire and Abel Dos Santos, gifts and stationery buyer at Foyles Bookshop, who have both judged before. They were joined by Charlotte McCarthy, stationery buyer for John Lewis, Suzanne Hack, procurement and category manager at London Graphic Centre, Louisa Brenton, gift and stationery buyer of Bentalls, Fenwick Kingston and Lucy Edmonds, owner of Quill London.
