It’s always a win-win when you can find stationery products that combine good design with environmental sustainability. That’s why I’m a fan of “Tree-Free Statement Journals” from New Jersey-based World Paper Inc.
These unique journals are entirely handmade by Indian artisans, using paper made from recycled cloth cuttings left from the manufacture of T-shirts and undergarments. The journals’ covers are hand-bound, hand-silk-screened, and enhanced by papers made from golden jute fibers and stitching to create a textured feel.
Additionally, each blank white page is permanently secured by hand sewing. “Tree-Free Journals” are designed by Alexandra Soteriou, owner/president of World Paper, and Sonya Szostak.
