Handmade in Britain launches online marketplace

Handmade in Britain has launched a new online marketplace featuring carefully curated contemporary craft from over 120 exceptional designer-makers.

Drawing on over a decade of experience creating some of the UK’s finest craft and design events, Handmade in Britain is now offering customers the opportunity to shop for original, handcrafted products by talented designer-makers throughout the year. Shoppers can choose from a handpicked selection of textiles and home accessories, jewellery, ceramics, glass and  more.

The site can be browsed by discipline or via fabulous designs showcased in the ever-changing ‘Get Inspired’ selection. Many of the designers will even gift-wrap orders and send items directly to recipients.

Shop from a selection of superb ceramics by makers including Rowena Gilbert who celebrates the natural world and Sofia Ceramics who presents contemporary, functional tableware. Find gorgeous glass gifts for friends and family from Clare Wilson who primarily works using glass cane and murrine techniques to form stunning vessels, and Lynn Foster whose fused glass tableware reflects her love of 20th century modern art and design.

Stand out this season with fiercely fashionable designs from Nina Ullrich’s minimalist leather accessories to Nickola Beck’s nature-inspired silk scarves using her own digitally printed photographs. Treat yourself to a Bauhaus-inspired piece of jewellery by Isabelle Capitain or an eye-catching geometric design in glossy colours by Tiki by Cecile Gilbert. Collect your favourite items in your wish list and register for an account so you can access this anytime.

Accessorise your home with a lifelike sculpted animal made by John Noble-Milner using recycled metals powered by 100% renewable sources. Add ambiance to you living space with a stunning geometric light by Tristian Thornhill and don’t miss John Eadon’s minimalist ‘spindle’ furniture in his MIMA Collection.

This is a unique opportunity to buy handcrafted work, the majority of which, would never be available to buy on the high street. Many of the 120+ designer-makers are award-winners and only sell through galleries, exhibitions or by appointment.
