Gem Fairies to grant magical wishes

Gem Fairies CardGemma is delighted to announce its charity partnership for their property Gem Fairies with Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

Gemma’s Marketing Manager, Shelley Boyd-Platt comments: ‘We are very proud of our charity tie up between Gem Fairies and Make-A-Wish. This year alone the charity hopes to grant 900 wishes and needs to raise £7 million to continue granting wishes in the future – so every donation really does count”.

Gemma is helping to raise monies for the charity by making a 10 per cent donation from each Gem Fairies greeting card sold at retail. Shelley added; “As a company we are humbled to be working with such an inspiring charity and the children and young people they grant wishes for”.

As of September 2014 all Gem Fairies greeting cards will feature a ‘Proudly supporting’ Make-A-Wish sticker on the front of the card, informing consumers on the charity partnership.

Gem Fairies is the beautiful greeting card, gift packaging and partyware range created by Gemma, targeting girls 3 to 9 years. The range uniquely combines the beauty of being a princess with the enchantment of transforming into a magical fairy. A perfect fit with a charity that is synonymous with granting magical wishes.

With support from Gem Fairies, Make-A-Wish can continue to grant wishes to children like Megan, from Poole, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in January 2013. Megan had several months of treatment and chemotherapy during which she contracted pneumonia. Megan loves princesses and is a very girly girl, so her wish was to be a princess for the day! Make-A-Wish arranged for Megan to have a day fit for a princess including limousine, horse and carriage ride and a special lunch at Highcliffe castle.

This partnership ties into another exciting initiative which sees Gem Fairies sign a licensing deal with Digital Giving, who link engaging children’s characters to deserving causes through the free T-Shirt Booth App. Fans will be able to choose a T-Shirt with their favourite Gem Fairy and personalise it with a name and photo, with £2 of every purchase going to Make-A-Wish. The partnership was brokered by agency Louis Kennedy.
