Jane Means wraps it up

ribbonOur favourite giftwrap guru Jane Means has some handy hints for managing ribbons, the all-important finishing touch for any well-wrapped gift.

For retailers who are selling ribbons by the metre you can first choose a box or basket to display the ribbons easily. For vintage-style (and very economical) wrapping you can easily decorate a simple paper bag (left) with tags and ribbon to give it that nostalgic feel.

For a touch of luxury tie ribbons around a box of bakery items to bring the package to life and make it look special.

Give the parcel a final flourish with small offcuts of stiff or wired ribbon that can be tied to make a spike bow.
