Umbellifer’s bestselling Songbirds & Seedheads range is now 18 designs strong after the publication of the latest three designs: Willow Tit, Robin and Cetti’s Warbler.
Known for his botanical illustrations, Umbellifer’s owner and artist Stephen Lennon originally started sketching birds as a break from drawing plants. But, as Stephen says, “The Songbirds range just took off. In fact, it now outsells many of my botanical ranges, especially in springtime”.
Sales of the cards, which feature a mix of well-known and less-common birds seen (and heard) in the UK, have been helped by his Songbirds & Seedheads card packs, which each contain six designs. Having expanded the range into mounted giclée prints, Stephen is currently looking for licensing opportunities and feels there is scope for the range to really fly.
Umbellifer’s Songbirds & Seedheads range has been a commercial success from day one – and now it’s time for it to stretch its wings!
