London-based greetings designer Roisin Cafferty has unveiled the first 10 designs of her age-specific ‘Crafty Numbers’ birthday card range. Each vibrant design features two colourful, smiley characters, while the remaining negative space cleverly reveals the child’s age.
The five boys’ cards have blue, green and purple tones, and include robot, crocodile and monster characters. Meanwhile, the five girls’ designs have shades of pink, yellow and brown and feature fairies, rabbits and owls. The cute characters have the appearance of layered sugar paper, giving them a playful quality that children will love, while their cheeky expressions can’t fail to raise a smile whatever your age!
“I really wanted to create an age range with a difference so I was thrilled when I realised that this idea hadn’t been done before,” says Roisin. “Using negative space to create a ‘hidden’ number, gives my designs a fun new dimension that makes them stand out from the crowd.”
These unique cards, which come with a brown ribbed kraft envelope, are available to order now, but will be officially launching at Top Drawer in January (stand H18), where a number of other new designs will also be on show.
Crafty Numbers is the 9th range from Roisin Cafferty, and as usual, it has a different look to all the others. “It’s important to me that every new range has an original style or idea and is completely independent to the others. This way, retailers and shoppers know they’re going to get something new and exciting every time” she explains.
Cards are priced at 89p+vat each (trade)
