Carte Blanche Greetings’ beloved cute character Tatty Teddy was on top form earlier this month as he raised £14,000 for the Children with Cancer charity.
The fundraising event, which was held at the Great Room of The Dorchester Hotel, London, was deemed a great success after auction prizes raised in excess of £180,000.
As Tatty Teddy brushed shoulders with celebrities such as Theo Pathetis, James Martin, Tessa Sanderson, Lorraine Chase, Bobby Davro, Chris Eubank and Russ Abbot, the mission to raise funds in order to find a cure for children’s cancer and provide support for their families meant that people reached deep into their pockets.
The most popular prize on the evening was an afternoon with Tatty Teddy and Steve Mort-Hill, the talented artist behind the Me to You brand, with a magical pre-Christmas visit to the winning child’s school or hospital. The recipient and their class will also receive an exclusive piece of hand drawn artwork, a personally signed card, commemorative photo with Tatty Teddy and a Christmas Stocking packed full of Me to You Goodies.
Jeff Banks, who did an amazing job running the auction, ensured that the Tatty Teddy prize raised a whopping £14,000, even more than that of tickets to see The Royal Variety Performance with back stage passes to meet celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Michael McIntrye and David Walliams.
Stephen Haines, Chairman and Founder of The Carte Blanche Group, was there to duo with Jeff Banks in auctioning the prize and afterwards commented, “Many of the prizes auctioned were donated back to the families with children with cancer and we hope that the Tatty Teddy prize will also do just that. We’re thrilled that Tatty Teddy helped to raise so much money and my sincere thanks go out to the final bidder. The entire evening has raised a lot of money, for a fabulous charity and…. we’ve all had a great time. Perfect!”
