One of the newest and most enchanting additions to Brand Licensing Europe can be found on stand E010, where global licensing agency JELC will be showcasing the tiny creatures called Lillipippins, one of the most stunning design concepts of the year.
Lillipippins are beautifully crafted representations of woodland and wild animals — giraffes, pandas, squirrels, butterflies and more — which, as the name suggests, are all minuscule. In award-winning designer Lisa Johnson’s illustrations they can be seen relaxing on — or peering round — household objects that tower over them. The effect is reminiscent of the delightful, nostalgic keepsakes of centuries past but with an appealingly modern wit and charm.
It’s a winning combination that has undoubted potential in numerous retail categories and JELC will be promoting Lillipippins as an ideal brand for greetings and stationery, publishing, new media, housewares and décor, giftware, nursery products, apparel, confectionery and food, and health and beauty products.
Lillipippins is a finalist at License This!, the exciting annual challenge at BLE where new brands or licensing concepts are pitched to a panel of experts. The winner will receive a fully- furnished stand at Brand Licensing Europe 2013. This is the second appearance in succession by a JELC property at the final of License This!. Last year, Turizmo, the thrilling toy and fantasy game concept for boys was a contender.
Janet Woodward, Joint Managing Director, JELC, says: “Lillipippins is a wonderful concept: easy to understand and instantly appealing but also sophisticated in its design and beautifully portrayed. This stunning quality, combined with its humour and charm, makes Lillipippins unlike any other brand. We were instantly attracted to this unique concept and we think licensing and retail — and consumers — will be too.”
