Making its debut at Autumn Fair 2015 is the Business and Sourcing Direct Seminar Theatre, located within the Hall 5 Brands of China exhibitor zone.
The theatre is designed to help visitors who currently source product from overseas or who are considering doing so and need advice on how to set up this part of their business.
Throughout the four days of Autumn Fair visitors can go the Business and Sourcing Direct Seminar Theatre for invaluable insights on topics that include selecting an appropriate factory, meeting sustainability requirements and ensuring that ethical standards are met.
The programme will feature case studies, seminars and tutorials from internationally renowned experts, who will guide visitors through the maze of information they need to successfully source from the Far East and elsewhere.
The Business Sourcing Direct Seminar Theatre has the ideal location among the Brands of China showcase that is exclusive to Autumn Fair in the second half of the year and will feature a huge variety of unique products made from different provinces of China.
Heading the packed speaker line-up is Gandys co-founder Rob Forkan, who will share his inspirational and personal story of entrepreneurship and sourcing form the Far East on Sunday September 6.
Brothers Rob and Paul Forkan launched footwear brand Gandys and the Orphans for Orphans movement after losing their parents in the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. Travelling and volunteering in South East Asia inspired them to create a social enterprise in which they design footwear that enables them to fund the building of centres for children and young people that can deliver medication, nutrition and education to fellow orphans and other deprived children.
Gandys is now a fast growing fashion phenomenon, that has their flip flop designs stocked in many of the leading retailers of the World. Neither Rob nor Paul believe ‘achievement’ comes from being at a desk five days a week and in addition to working flexibly for balance, they regularly take time out to travel and enjoy different cultures as they did as children. Ambassadors for the brand include Sir Richard Branson and Prince Harry, who support the social mission of the business.
Other presentations will be given by Vice President of the British Allied Trade Federation, Michael Sweeney, the CEO of E-gistics Ltd, Fraser Harper, John Good Shipping Commercial Manager Paul Ferguson and the Deputy Director-General of TDB, Guoyong Jia, amongst many others.
