Tendence 2016 has announced that June 24 is the closing date for entries to The Home & Trend Award for interior innovations and trend products. This year also sees the launch of an additional award category for Smart Home/Smart Building concepts.
The Lifecare Initiative Home & Trend Award is intended to provide consumers with professional assistance and guidance in making purchase decisions.
The ‘Innovation of the Year’ and ‘Trend Product of the Year’ awards are given to exceptional products that are characterised by their special design, and also by their qualities in terms of innovation, functionality, product benefit and ergonomics. The Seal of Quality is awarded to the best products in the interior design and furnishing industry, in the following categories:
‘Garden and Leisure’, ‘Furniture and Decoration’, ‘Bath and Wellness’, ‘Building fixtures and Interior design’, ‘Large and Small electrical appliances’ and ‘Household and Cleaning’.
This year there is also a new award for ‘Smart Home’ concepts, which will play an important role in the homes of tomorrow. “These are technologies that serve to enhance everyday comfort, energy efficiency and security. Successful use of these systems depends essentially on criteria such as their user-friendliness, reliability and security, as well as trouble-free operation. This ensures that ‘smart living’ becomes accessible and beneficial for all”, says Harald Schultes, Director of the LifeCare Initiative.
After its launch last year, the awards for the best products in the field of hotel furnishings/public buildings will also take place this year, to provide guidance for those buyers who are interested in contract business solutions.
In addition to a jury of experts, the end consumers themselves decide who is to receive the awards. The independent jury will nominate selected products for the end user vote. The best and most popular products in each category will be selected by means of a survey conducted by a market research institute.
Manufacturers can enter for the Home & Trend Award up until 24 June 2016. The award-winning products will be showcased for the whole duration of the fair in a special exhibition space in Galleria 0.
