Solution-based service consortium, Maryanne Stokes Limited, which was set up four years ago to focus on the gardening sector, has acquired online retailer Luca’s Design Limited.
Trading as Luca’s Garden, the consumer facing garden giftware company has been running successfully for ten years. It combines online sales with offline trading at consumer shows including Hampton Court, the Badminton Horse Trials and various other RHS gardening shows. The business’s previous owners decided it was time to retire.
“We are very proud parents!” states Maz Stokes. “We have moved the business from Wolverhampton to Somerset and we have settled it in to its new premises with a plan to start trading next week!”
Maz continued, “We are very excited about this opportunity. It takes me back to my retail roots and I am delighted to be dusting off my buying hat, so look out supply chain! The whole team has great ambitions for the company with plans to review the brand in due course as well as explore opportunities to brand stretch.
“We will continue to work with the existing suppliers that have supported Luca to date but we will be looking to expand our product range ready for the spring.
“Ever since I devised the MSL concept and watched it grow into the success I knew it would be, the philosophy has always been to enjoy the work we do. Luca will be no different – the business will be staffed by family and friends and we are really looking forward to having some fun with our new venture.”
Luca’s Garden trades garden giftware, furniture, a small home collection and seasonal lines such as Christmas.
