The Pulse awards were announced as the show closed on Tuesday May 15, celebrating the best product innovation and design – and most eye-catching stands – from the talented pool of exhibitors.
The awards were judged by leading retail experts including: Sarah Sevier, Head of Retail at the V&A, Kris Manalo, Senior Buyer at Heal’s, Katie Law, Deputy Literary Editor of The Evening Standard, Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, Mini Moderns and Barbara Chandler of the Evening Standard. The winners are:
Best Newcomer
Judge: Barbara Chandler, Evening Standard
Winner: Lucy Tiffney
Lucy has managed to bring raw artistic talent to the mass market, in a fabulously sophisticated product. She won the price for the passion and creativity that goes into her work.
Runner up: OFFDN
OFFDN have such a diverse product range and use British Manufacturing as much as possible. Impressive amount of thought behind each product.
Best Brand Presentation
Judges: Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, Mini Moderns
Winner: Yod and Co.
They were impressed by the selection of products – bringing together ranges from different designers in a coherent, curated manner. The stand design makes clever use of innovative materials that support the brand and complement the products.
Runner up: One we made earlier
This stand created maximum impact using minimal materials, with the stand and product aesthetic in perfect harmony.
Best New Product – Makers and Brands
Judge: Katie Law, Deputy Literary Editor of the Evening Standard
Winner: XD Design – Bobby Urban
This is a really clever product that appeals to how we live today. Every Londoner needs one!
Runner up: PR Home – Playa Outdoor Floor Lamp
Clever design. So sleek and practical using a chargeable USB to power it.
Best new product – Living
Judge: Kris Manalo, Senior Buyer, Heal’s
Winner: Gedigo OY Ab
Fine craftsmanship and the buttery soft feel of the leather makes this a winning product. The product makes you want to touch and feel the product. Premium quality and built to last.
Runner up: Ark Colour Design
Their eccentric colourful design appeals to the sense of humour. Great gift product.</>

Winner: ROKA
The use of colour and lightweight material really made this stand out as a quality product. The order and delivery process gives lots of confidence from a retailer point of view.
Runner up: Jessica Wilde Design
Print quality and use of colour really stood out in Jessica’s designs. Product is well priced and produced in the UK.
