Hornby Hobbies’ Hogwarts Express Train Set crowned Toy Fair 2019 Editor’s Choice

On Wednesday January 23 the Hogwarts Express Train Set by Hornby Hobbies was crowned overall winner of the Editor’s Choice Awards at Toy Fair 2019. Second place was awarded to the Peppa Pig Deluxe Wooden Playhouse by Character Options, while third went to Artie 3000™ by Learning Resources.

Organised by the British Toy and Hobby Association, the awards were voted on by media who attended Toy Fair London’s Olympia. Thousands of toys were launched at the show, where more than 250 exhibiting companies showed off their latest creations to journalists from national newspapers, broadcasters, consumer and trade outlets.

Toys launched at Toy Fair often go on to shape the UK market in the year ahead. The top three toys as voted for by the media are:

First Place:

Hogwarts Express Train Set, Hornby Hobbies, £199.99

Second Place:

Peppa Pig Deluxe Wooden Playhouse, Character Options, £99.99

Third Place:

Artie 3000™, Learning Resources, £69

“The Hogwarts Express is an iconic part of the Harry Potter stories, so we’re highly delighted to win the Editor’s Choice Award for the Hornby Hogwarts Express Train set,” commented Simon Kohler, Marketing and Product Development Director at Hornby Hobbies. “We’re extremely pleased to be working with our partners at Warner Bros Consumer Products on this wonderful addition to the Hornby range.”

“Congratulations to the winners of Editor’s Choice 2019!” said Majen Immink, Director of Fairs & Special Events. “With so many fantastic toys launched at Toy Fair, it’s a real achievement to be selected for this award. My thanks to our attending journalists, too, for taking the time to vote at another jam-packed show.”
