Partyware specialist, Talking Tables, a regular fixture at trade shows around the country, is helping to keep up people’s spirits throughout the corona virus pandemic.
The company’s Helen Hornsby says: “At my place of work, our brand has always been centred around gatherings/gatherings around the dining table. Born 20 years ago, the company celebrates every day in our office. Whether it’s a candle in a cake in the office, or a family games night or simply adding a beautiful napkin to the table.
“Our office of 50+ staff have been following guidelines and working from home, however we are using Zoom to keep connected. We have taken this a step further then just for meetings, and been having fun with Mexican waves, a birthday party (which we would normally do in the office) and on Friday we are doing a Zoom pub drinks and quiz.
“Whilst we have been navigating new ways of working as a team, our priority has also been how our customers can still celebrate those moments together safely. With the likes of Zoom and House Party, we’ve taken our products digital and celebrated a team birthday online with great success and lots of laughter.
“We know that lots of families and friends will be adjusting to the same. Those on the frontline might not get to spend time with those in their household but digital calls and fun props/dress up/candles can bring just as big a smile. During such changing and scary times, a birthday headband or badge and candle in a cake (pancake, cookie, toast etc) is just what we all need to make us feel special on our birthday.
“We are hosting a zoom tea & cake for our mums to socialise with each other tomorrow too! Any excuse for cake!”
