Nigel Tyas Ironwork is a small blacksmithing business committed to keeping traditional ironworking skills alive in the UK. Their workshop is based in the village of Millhouse Green in Yorkshire. From here, skilled blacksmiths forge made-to-order chandeliers, using traditional tools such as hammers, tongs and jigs. These products follow their own unique design, celebrating one of Britain’s oldest rural motifs in the shepherd’s crook.
Like many other businesses, Nigel Tyas had to close its showroom. In times like these a good working webshop is essential and the business is now run from home and some members of the workshop team are furloughed to protect themselves, their families and the wider community.
Josh from South Dakota is one of many customers who found Nigel Tyas online. He was looking for something which fit in with his Tudor-style ceilings and has now ordered two large Shepherd’s Crook chandeliers to hang in his stunning mock Tudor mansion in the town of Sioux Falls.
