Peach Fuzz is the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2024

It may feel like a rollercoaster start to 2024 for many people, but trendwise we’re firmly in the realm of soft and fruity, as Peace Fuzz 13-1023 is named as the Pantone Colour of the Year.

The selection of a hue which, according to Pantone, ‘captures our desire to nurture ourselves and other’, follows on from the choice of Apricot Crush as the WGSN Colour of the Year a few months ago.

The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, said: “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless”.

Described as a ‘velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches heart, mind and body’, Peach Fuzz sits on the spectrum between pink and orange. This romantic colour lends itself to application on ‘velvety, quilted and furry textures’ and is ‘luxuriously soothing and soft to the touch’.

Print on Demand wallpaper, home decor and fabric specialist, Spoonflower, which offers designs created by independent artists worldwide, held a competition to find surface pattern designs which encapsulated the essence of Peach Fuzz.

The winner, Elena Amo, “Large scale botanical peaches bedding and wallpaper design featuring orange and pink peaches, butterflies and leaves.” Elena’s design is now available on a wide variety of products via the Spoonflower website, including home textiles, tableware and wallpapers.
