Animal welfare charity the RSPCA has awarded Hallmark with a three year licence to produce a range of cards, gift presentation, social stationery and crackers. The range will use imagery based on the Respect photographic style from the RSPCA’s recently launched style guide.
The first products in the new range appeared in late 2012 when Hallmark launched a range of greetings cards that perfectly encapsulate the appeal of the Respect style. Offering a delightful close-up photograph of an animal that brilliantly emphasises its character and personality, it is the perfect style for the empathetic and compassionate animal lover. The imagery used has been carefully selected to appeal to a wide audience and is appropriate for many different occasions.
The Hallmark card range adds an important new partner to the RSPCA’s greeting card portfolio and compliments the existing cards produced by Paperlink, which uses the Harmony style, and Noel Tatt, which offers stunning animal pictures from the RSPCA photo library.
Each card provides a link to the RSPCA website for further information about the animals featured on the card. The back of all the products, available and planned, includes an RSPCA logo and will highlight the charity’s work and Hallmark’s contribution.
The RSPCA’s licensing manager Cathy Snow said: “We are delighted with the new range. The quality of the cards in particular and the care with which the images have been chosen and employed are certain to guarantee a strong appeal to a wide audience. I’m really pleased that such a prestigious card publisher has recognised the appeal of the RSPCA and is so keen to help us raise vitally needed funds.”
The Hallmark range will further boost awareness of the fast-growing RSPCA licensing campaign, a campaign that has already seen the charity make strong inroads as a trusted and high quality brand into a number of categories. The RSPCA is looking at, or has already signed, deals in such areas as apparel, giftware, toys, housewares, stationery, publishing, pet food, wild animal food and pet accessories.
Emma Read, brand manager, Hallmark, added: “The RSPCA’s Respect imagery is not only a high quality and beautifully realised photographic style but charming and full of character. Having the chance to bring these images to our cards and other personal expression products has been a great opportunity — not just to employ these wonderful images on our cards but to help the RSPCA raise valuable funds to help animals.”
