The award-winning Apples to Pears brands and products have been acquired by home and giftware industry giant, Widdop & Co. Company founders Mark Wash and Sally Granger, who set up the company in 2002, made the following announcement via their website:
After over 20 years of creating award-winning gifts, we’ve decided to hand on the batten to fresh blood. So, with effect from the 1st July 2022 all Apples to Pears brands will be sold via Widdop and Co. who have almost 140 years of history of innovation and excellence in home and giftware. William Widdop established the company in 1883, and the company is still run by the 5th generation.
Our products will not change with new designs not far away, and the good news is that there will be plenty of fresh stock arriving before too long to ensure that you do not miss out on sales of our top sellers on the run up to Christmas. We are incredibly proud of our products, and it was important to us that we found someone who would treasure them and our customers just as much as we do. We feel that with Widdop we will be leaving our ‘babies’ in good hands for a long and prosperous future.
We will be trading as normal until 30th June and would like to thank all our loyal customers for their business and support over the years, so many of you have become friends and we will miss you all!
Ordering from this website will continue as normal now and after the changeover.
Reluctantly, like others, there will be an increase in trade prices from 1st July – however all orders received and dispatched up to 30th June will be supplied at current prices so order now to get stock pre-increase.
Note that after 1st July Apples to Pears Ltd. will still exist but from that date, order will be placed to Widdop & Co. (via this website) Payments for all invoices dated up to 30th June are still payable to Apples to Pears Ltd. in the normal way.
