FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment is marking the 30th anniversary of the BAFTA and Emmy award-winning movie The Wind In the Willows by seeking new licensees for this cherished classic property.
To help celebrate this landmark anniversary FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment is actively pursuing licensees, for the following categories: Gifting & Plush, Puzzles & Games, Bedding, T-shirts, Greetings Cards, Calendars, Personal Care, Stationery & Bags, Limited Edition Prints, Confectionery, and Posters & Badges.
The anniversary falls on 27 December this year and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment’s licensing team is looking to support the anniversary across 2013/14, whilst the home entertainment division will be releasing three special anniversary tie-in DVDs to celebrate the occasion this December.
First published in 1908, Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved children’s classic tells of the adventures of Badger, Mole, Ratty and the flamboyant Toad of Toad Hall in idyllic rural England. In 1983, Producers Cosgrove Hall used beautiful and timeless stop motion animation to bring the characters magically to life in a stunning setting reminiscent of the Edwardian country scene, combining quality animation with all the fun and enchantment of a fairy tale adventure.
Following the success of the film, five TV series plus a one-hour special were produced by Cosgrove Hall between 1984 and 1990, with more than 65 episodes in total. Voiced by an amazing cast of distinguished British actors, the tales featured Sir David Jason as Toad, Peter Sallis (the voice of Wallace and Gromit) as Ratty, and Sir Michael Hordern (the voice of Paddington) as Badger.
Pindy O’Brien, VP UK Licensing and Retail FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment, said: “The next best thing to messing about in boats is being able to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this enchanting film. The exploits of our four intrepid animal friends make for a truly magical experience for all the family.”
The Wind in the Willows is part of FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment’s portfolio of classic children properties which includes: Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Rainbow, Jamie and the Magic Torch and Chorlton and the Wheelies.
