RHS teams up with Shruti Designs

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced the signing of a new licensee to its successful and growing licensing programme. Shruti Designs, which creates gift products and fashion accessories, has been licensed to create a large new collection of gift and fashion items.

The first items in this collection, launching in early 2018, will be a stylish and elegant range of scarves using floral designs inspired by artwork from the RHS Lindley Library, the world’s finest collection of botanical art.

The scarves will use two designs — one of colourful flowers, the other of birds and flowers in silhouette — and four different colourways to provide eight beautiful and highly desirable scarves. The scarves will be soft handle, delicate cotton mixes, measure 50 x 180 cms and retail at around £20-£22. All will be branded RHS, with woven labels and swing tags, and supplied to retailers with flat-packed branded pillow boxes that can be used by their customers as gift boxes.

The official launch of the scarves will be in March 2018. Further items in the RHS-Shruti collection will follow later in the year. Shruti will hold a launch event in September for its full spring/summer 2018 collections, at which all eight scarves will be previewed.

The scarves will be sold through Junction 18, the sole distributor for Shruti-branded products, and will be available at independent retailers, RHS shops and major multiples, as well as online at www.junction18.com and at rhsshop.co.uk, from spring 2018. The main market for the scarves is expected to be adult women, as well, of course, as RHS supporters and gift givers of all ages.

Cathy Snow, Licensing Manager, RHS, says: “Our licensing programme is attracting a growing number of respected designers of elegant apparel and accessories and Shruti is a welcome addition to the list. The elegance and comfort of Shruti scarves and some truly delightful floral designs adapted from the RHS Lindley Library have combined to glorious effect in this new range.”
